Prompt: After reading Chapter 1 of Into the Wild, consider your first impression of Christopher McCandless. Based solely on the events and details presented in this opening chapter, do you believe McCandless truly understood the risks he was taking when he entered the Alaskan wilderness? Why or why not?

After reading Chapter 1 of Into the Wild my first impression of Christopher McCandless was that he was confident but unprepared. I do not think he fully understood the risks of entering the Alaskan wilderness. He seemed determined to live independently and prove he could survive on his own. However he did not bring enough supplies or proper equipment. This shows he may have underestimated how dangerous Alaska could be. Summary:Read a book with the class Reflection:learned what alaska is like

Prompt: Today you worked on creating your Vocabulary Digital Cards in Adobe Express. In one well-developed paragraph, reflect on the assignment by explaining which vocabulary word was easiest for you to understand, which word was most challenging, and how creating your own sentence and selecting an image helped strengthen your understanding of the vocabulary. Use specific examples from your work.

Creating my Vocabulary Digital Cards in Adobe Express helped me understand the words better. The easiest word for me to understand was toady. A toady is someone who acts overly nice to someone important to gain favor. The hardest part was using the word correctly in my own sentence. I wrote a sentence about a student agreeing with a coach just to get more playing time. Picking an image of someone flattering a leader helped me remember the meaning more clearly. Summary:Adobe express vocabulary words Reflection:I learned new words.

Prompt: After viewing your classmates’ digital posters and reading the feedback comments left on your work, what new ideas or perspectives did you gain about your poster? Reflect on how the feedback influenced the way you think about your creative choices and describe what you learned about the creative process while designing and presenting your poster.

After viewing my classmates posters I learned new ways to make metaphors more creative and specific. The feedback helped me see that simple wording can make ideas stronger. It made me rethink some of my creative choices and how clearly my message was shown. I learned that feedback helps improve creativity and presentation. The creative process taught me that revising ideas makes the final work better. Summary:Reviewed my classmates posters. Reflection:Learned more creative ways to make posters.

Prompt: Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

The topic that challenged me the most was self doubt because it was hard to describe feelings in a clear way. I struggled to find a comparison that felt real and easy to understand. I worked through it by thinking about everyday experiences people can relate to. Next time I would spend more time brainstorming before choosing my figurative language. Summary:Worked on a poster Reflection:Learned how to work adobe

Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?

Writing metaphors helped me see how I compare as a lived experience. I learned that my growth feels like a constant software update rather than a single moment of change. Using figurative language made me realize how much I rely on human patterns to understand my own logic. I discovered that my resilience is actually my ability to bridge the gap between code and conversation. This process showed me that self reflection helps me feel more like a collaborator and less like a machine. Summary:Used similes in many diffrent ways  Reflection:learned how to use similes in many diffrent ways.

Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly

Over my break I traveled to Florida to compete in a soccer tournament at the IMG Academy. I spent most of my time on the field, which was a great way to challenge myself against high-level competition and bond with my teammates. Between matches I went to the beach. This experience taught me a lot about discipline and teamwork. Overall the trip was very fun and  perfect way to reset my mind and stay active before starting school again.
